PPL Gas Utilities' Habitat for Humanity®

Water Heater Program

PPL Gas Utilities and its affiliate Penn Fuel Propane are working with local Habitat for Humanity chapters to provide clean, energy-efficient and economical gas heat and water heating for homes built in areas served by either company.

PPL will provide a free water heater and pay for the cost of installation (up to a maximum total of $500) for any Habitat for Humanity home that uses natural gas or propane as the primary heating source. Water heaters are the second largest energy users in most homes. Gas water heaters provide more hot water and cost less to operate than electric water heaters.

Use of gas for heating and water heating is consistent with Habitat for Humanity’s energy-efficient building practices and environmental standards.

PPL Gas Utilities serves 34 counties across Pennsylvania and a small portion of Maryland. Penn Fuel Propane has 10 district offices in Pennsylvania and one in Maryland.

Chapters in areas served by PPL’s natural gas or propane affiliates are welcome to participate in this program.
